Driver safety is paramount to us here at LeasePlan and we believe that by applying common sense and following some very simple driving rules, we can all help to contribute to our roads a safer place.

Key safety points to remember:

• Always wear your seatbelt and ensure your passengers are also wearing theirs.
• Always ensure your vehicle is road compliant and that your brake and indicator lights are working.
• Plan your journey before you depart.
• Try to be a courteous driver and don't push to be at the top of the queue.
• Always let indicating drivers merge into your lane. Equally, give other drivers plenty of notice of your intentions
  by using your indicator to signal you are changing lanes or turning left/right.
• Always leave the correct following distance eg: 50kph = 20m, 60kph = 24m, 100kph = 40m.
• Always slow down when coming up to an intersection.
• Be attentive when driving and always expect the unexpected.
• Always be aware of pedestrians, motorcyclists and cyclists.
• Never drink and drive.
