We would like to sincerely thank all of the Clients and Suppliers who kindly donated items for the Heart Children "Heart Stopper" Fundraising Week.

Earlier this year, the youngest daughter of the Operations Director of LeasePlan New Zealand, Johannes Jacobs, was born with a heart condition. The good news is, that following three operations, Petra has now finally been allowed to go home and is doing well. The bad news is that every week in New Zealand, 12 babies are born with a heart defect and there are 10,000 New Zealand children living with a heart condition.

This is what made LeasePlan decide to organise some fundraising for Heart Children NZ, the only organisation in New Zealand dedicated to providing life long support for all those affected by the world's most common birth defect. At the end of May most of the LPNZ employees took part of several activities to raise money for this Heart Children charity.

Fundraising Activities Heart Stopper Challenge where a team of 6 people dressed as Top Gun characters were sponsored to sit in a pool of ice cold water for 5 minutes.

• A serenade of 'You've Lost that Loving Feeling' to a lady in a dress (one of our Maintenance Controllers!)
• Auctions
• Raffles
• Bake sales
• Sausage Sizzle
• Fun Run

We set out to raise at least $2,000 and absolutely smashed that target by raising a whopping $7,485!

Thanks to all those who took part in the fundraising, it was a mammoth effort and so gratifying to be able to raise so much money for this worthy cause. A massive thank you also to our clients and suppliers who donated items to be raffled or auctioned. We have sent individual thank you letters to those who contributed to let them know how their donation made a difference.
